We all know that furnishing a house properly is the result of thorough research and planning: unless we rely entirely on an expert who understands our tastes and needs, we must proceed step by step, considering all the variables. The size of the rooms, the use we will make of them, the brightness and, above all, our lifestyle are all factors to take into account. But it is usually assumed that the furniture and supporting structures of the house are perfectly functional and safe.

However, there are cases in which the use of a particular design - or perhaps more simply, an act of negligence - has created a nightmarish situation: we have found some incredible ones that you can see (and avoid repeating) below:

What should this drawer be used? How do we open it up to let us get to the contents inside? There is simply no way these drawers can carry out their primary function. It would have been better to use recessed handles in this case.
