Do you want to hide the washing machine? Check out these ideas!
Although most modern washing machines and dryers have very beautiful features and lines - to the point of truly becoming elements that furnish our homes with taste - these are not always the models that we find in homes. And it may even be true that the appliances we have are actually an eyesore.
Often, there is no space to create special laundry area (and even small laundry areas can be intrusive). So, having the uniformity of the decor in a room interrupted by the presence of a washing machine or dryer becomes unsightly. What can be done about this? These appliances will need to be covered, hiding them from view but without making them more difficult to use. Here are some ideas to inspire you:
Whether they are stacked on top of each other, or placed side by side in a room or a niche in the house, you can cover them with sliding doors: this way, they will still be easy to use.
If you like a more rustic style, you can use this "opportunity" to install the barn door you have wanted for so long: it is perfect for a farmhouse styled home.
But even a door with a more contemporary look is not at all bad, especially if it acts as the door to the laundry room.
Another idea is to use folding doors, which take up even less space.
Also for those who prefer a more rustic touch, you could use door models that look like (or are!) old shutters.
And the idea of a folding, sliding door also works as a cover for the lower part of the wall, when the washing machine is under a shelf and there is no need to create a door that encloses the space right up to the ceiling.
Then there are those who transform a compartment of a built-in wardrobe into a mini laundry, so that when you close the door, it looks like just a normal piece of furniture.
And the same can be done with a lower faux (false) cabinet - it's a great idea for decorating the wall around a window that was too small to use in any other way.
The most economical and perfect solution for a cottage: Provencal, shabby chic (and other styles) draw curtains.
These curtains can be short or long, hanging from the ceiling to the floor, if necessary.
