Use cinder blocks to decorate your garden with amazing projects at almost no cost
Concrete bricks (breeze blocks / cinder blocks) are cheap, economical building materials and, in themselves, are very unattractive from an aesthetic point of view: they are, in fact, created to build the load-bearing structures of our homes and other large building projects. But in the hands of creative minds, they can be transformed into a super versatile resource that, with a minimum expense, allows you to furnish your garden customized DIY projects.
It is possible to create flower boxes of all sizes, but also other useful structures (fences, partitions) and furniture. The nice thing, in addition to costing very little, is that they are objects that will last practically forever. Take a look at the ideas below to find the inspiration that might be right for you:
Even the kids can help you paint colorful patterns and shapes on a cinder block to be used as a vase for some of your plants.
Cinder blocks are almost always chosen to hold succulent plants, which may grow slowly and therefore need the space in the holes of the bricks.
And by using all kinds of stencils you can "print" decorative motifs on the block that are otherwise difficult to recreate by hand: they will look like objects you specifically bought (and do not look home made).
In addition to succulents, you can also plant seasonal flowers in cinder blocks and thereby give them some color, even without using paints.
Sometimes it is nice to use a single-color paint over the whole structure: very often multi-tiered planters that are created with these blocks are the angular ones - perfect for spots that would otherwise be bare in the garden (and good for a balcony too).
If you need a multi-tiered table or shelving for the corner where you do your repotting, take cuttings and similar, a few breeze blocks and wooden planks are more than enough to achieve this.
Cinder blocks are also often used as borders for flower beds ... And each hole in the block can contain a decorative plant!
A column of cinder blocks, perhaps cemented together, provides the necessary support for wooden poles with which to create a sturdy fence.
And in a similar way, garden benches and seats can be built.
And how about building an outdoor bar that you can also decorate with some plants?
Have you ever used cinder blocks in similar ways in your garden?
