DIY garden fountains? You can easily build one using clay pots
We all know that there is something deeply relaxing about hearing the sound of water flowing and trickling in a stream, as well as the sound of water splashing in a fountain. These are sounds of nature that we associate with images of peace in the middle of a forest, for example. But we could also get to enjoy these soothing sounds within the confines of our own homes.
In fact, building a fountain in a garden is not necessarily a hyper-expensive or difficult project: there are many ideas to create these small water features - starting from commonly found and easily available materials, such as terracotta / clay pots. Here are some ideas and tutorials to draw inspiration from:

For the project shown in the photo you need only three terracotta pots of different sizes, a very large saucer / pot base and several other smaller saucers. Additionally, you will need some river pebbles to decorate with, a water pump to be hidden in the larger pot - and, if you want, you can add some plants as well.
It is a modest, small creation, and it could look good even placed on a large garden table.

This is a fountain that is constructed vertically, is little more substantial, but is still suitable for deployment in small spaces. The clay pots need to be nice and sturdy and of good quality. They will be stacked one inside the other, using bricks as shims to create the desired shape.
In all these projects, however, pots are used that are used to hold plants: they are therefore pots equipped with drainage holes at the bottom, which must be properly sealed. You can do this using insulating foam or even (sometimes it seems to be better) with adhesive tape that is used to repair water leaks.

Here is a model which is a bit more complex: multiple vases create very spectacular streams and mini waterfalls. Here, some of the pots have also been painted: the paint, unfortunately, tends to require some maintenance as it is in continuous contact with water and humidity which will cause normal, expected wear and tear.

The idea of a fountain made from a single, large terracotta pot is also very good - even more so if it is surrounded by plants that are more or less the same height as the fountain.
