Flowers and plants at the entrance of the home to welcome guests: some ideas to consider
Look at the principal entrance to your home, or maybe even the secondary one: if you only see a door and perhaps it seems a bit bland and boring, what is probably missing are some flowers or plants. In fact, adding vases or pots from which green foliage is sprouting - with splashes of color - is always an excellent idea to enrich the area with style. The look thus created is much more attractive for any arriving guests, and even more for those who live in the home.
Plants and flowers soften the areas and make them immediately seem more lived-in, welcoming and livable. And this is true even at the entrance to the home, which, thanks to their natural look, shows of the home in its best possible light. Be inspired by the ideas below:
The first idea to consider is that of using impressive planters - that is, large vases / pots to be placed on one or both sides of the door. If the door is accessed after climbing up a few steps, then the planters could also stand at the foot of the stairs: this is a very elegant choice, suitable for both large mansions and smaller homes.
There are tall planters / vases available with slender and sophisticated lines, but there are also more rounded vases or terracotta amphorae. And there are converted barrels and more which can serve this function: in short, a pair of identical or matched planters can have a thousand looks - there is something for all tastes.
If you don't want to clutter up the entrance, maybe putting planters hanging on the wall on the sides of the door or directly on the doors themselves could be a good compromise.
Generally, plants that grow reasonably high are placed in large pots, but if you prefer not to have to manage more demanding plants like these, just use a plant with a lower natural height (even annuals) and then create the height using decorative branches.
So-called flower towers are also very popular: it involves using several pots of the same type but which are gradually smaller in size, stacked one on top of the other. The flowers are placed in the soil that remains visible!
Then there are a myriad of ideas for those who love rustic arrangements: think of any old and run-down object you have in your home or garden, and you could probably convert it into a planter of some kind.
Alternatively, even the classic choice of wrought iron vase holders and pedestals is always a solid direction to go in.
But if you want to be daring, an old chest of drawers that comes to life with plants sprouting from all its nooks and crannies is certainly an eye-catcher.
Also adorable is a ladder holding numerous flower pots.
And if you like succulents, you could display them in an old suitcase.
