Stones that become plants: a little paint is sufficient to decorate the home with beautiful cacti
Painting stones is a relaxing and fun, creative activity for all ages: it takes very little time to paint a stone in a thousand different ways, and you can indulge yourself in creating them in just a few hours. Among the best ideas you can try is that of transforming stones into cacti. Just find the stones or rocks that have the right shape - think about potato shapes! - and then, with some shades of green green paint, a little white and yellow and maybe even red, orange or pink for the flowers, in a short time you will have indestructible "plants", only with fewer thorns!
Take some photos of real cacti and try to replicate their features, or even let yourself be inspired by a more stylized project and perhaps even add faces and expressions. Really adorable creations can be created, like the ones you see below:
Even if you can't find very rounded stones, flat ones are fine too: you just need to concentrate rather on the shape and select those with rounded, elongated shapes. With a little experience, however, you will be able to use practically any shape of stone, since after all, even in nature, cacti have a myriad of different features.
However, it is best to select stones that have a very smooth surface, otherwise you will not get an optimal result.
Again, before starting to paint, make sure you have cleaned the stones thoroughly: brush off any dirt or soil residue and rinse and dry them off properly.
Then it's about replicating the shapes you see in photos, or images you can find online and download: these are usually more stylized and are easier to copy.
You don't have to be fastidious in creating realistic shading, thorns, grooves and all the real characteristics of these plants. Even polka dots or stylized flowers will be sufficient, especially if you plan to keep all the cacti togehter in a composition as if it were a pot of real plants.
You can even use smaller pebbles to paint and glue them on like the beautiful flowers that sometimes bloom on these plants.
Even a painted stone placed on a plate can be reminiscent of a cactus that is completely different from any of the others.
And even just a coat of green, some stylized decorations reminiscent of thorns in white and some little eyes and smiley faces, can be more than enough to create your stylized, cactus-shaped stones.
If you have small terracotta pots, you could even put a single painted stone in them, perhaps with a fake flower glued on top. It would look super cute on a desk, or even as a gift idea.
Glued and painted stones can become many different plants and flowers, creating adorable compositions.
