Have you had enough of the clutter in your wardrobes? Get help from the dividers that are right for you

As much as we fold and store all our clothes neatly in our wardrobes and wardrobe compartments, sooner or later it happens that when we take out a t-shirt or sweatshirt from underneath a pile of other clothes, the entire stack collapses and falls out onto the floor. And when we quickly put back a poorly folded garment without rearranging the rest of the clothes (after all, it's not like we always have the time to tidy up!), we're just contributing to the chaos in our cupboards.

After a while, we find ourselves with a mass of tangled, untidy clothes that forces us to rummage through them to find what we want and, of course, this makes the situation even worse. However, we can help ourselves with some useful accessories, no matter what type of wardrobe we use: by using dividers for the shelves.

Among the most popular and versatile dividers are those made from plastic, resin or plexiglass: being transparent, they do not change the look of the wardrobe by adding contrasting elements and colors, and also allow you to see more clearly what is in the confined space between one division and the other.

Dividers can be used to prevent piles of t-shirts, sweatshirts, sweaters and the like from collapsing to one side; but they can also be used to keep bags and accessories separate, or just to keep order in general in the cupboard.

Another possibility are smaller dividers, such as cut-out triangles that resemble shelf supports, but are made of wood. Obviously, it will be necessary to choose a wood that is of the same type (or appearance) as that of the shelves, in order to maintain uniformity in the style of the furniture.

They can be of any height, and for those who are a skilled at working with wood, they are a quick and easy DIY project. And you can choose profiles of all kinds, as well as those with the most suitable dimsensions for each shelf.

A popular and convenient alternative are also dividers made from metal materials: they can have various shapes depending on whether they are meshed or have some other design, but they are very resistant and also do not visually clutter the overall look that much.

Additionally, there are plastic dividers available, which are cheaper but always very functional. Some are even foldable, so that they can be stowed away without creating any clutter.

Another type of accessory that can really come in really handy are the intermediate shelves, i.e. those that create multiple levels on which to install inside any compartment of the cupboard. These insertable shelves are also often used in the pantry. Since they have to support folded clothes or bags or even shoes, they can also be made from metal and should have a flat, smooth surface.

Transparent boxes are also very useful: compared to baskets used for decorating or just normal boxes, transparent ones help you see what you need at a glance, and obviously protect the clothes from dust and dirt. This is why they are very convenient, especially when used in the wardrobe compartments and walk-in closets.

Alternatively, you can consider furnishing an entire wardrobe with baskets made of metal, and with a large mesh: these are resistant, and you can see what is inside and have a more robust design that can give character to the wardrobe.
