Do you want your own relaxation space? Create enchanting reading corners!
We all have a spot at home that is the most comfortable for us - where we like to relax and forget the worries of the day. Often, it is the sofa in the living room or maybe the bed, but it could also be our own special corner, equipped with an armchair or some kind of comfortable seat, that welcomes us for the times when we want to read our favorite books or magazines, or maybe to watch some movies or TV, chat on the phone with a loved one or surf the internet on a laptop.
It is pleasant to think about how to create a niche dedicated to relaxation at home, and below you will find several ideas to inspire you:
The simplest idea is to use a free corner of a room, perhaps in the bedroom or living room, with a very comfortable armchair and a really practical lamp that properly illuminates the books when we are reading them.
In children's bedrooms this corner is sometimes created by adding a curtain at the top, with a circle for a rail (a hula-hoop, for example), in order to create a private space.
If the room has a sloping ceiling, the slope can be exploited to create a space will seem like it has been specifically made. Following the architecture of the house makes the spaces seem as "natural" as possible.
The most popular idea is to put a seat under a window - optimal if this is in a niche of the room. In this way, the sides flanking the seat become spaces to be filled with shelves with books and a real, private niche will be born from the wall (and an area from which you can also enjoy the external landscape).
More corners: if the room is very large, you can consider building a raised platform that has comfortable cushions on it and is situated in the square formed by the corner walls.
If the layout of the stairs allows it, it is nice to set up the reading niche right underneath the stairwell.
The landing between two flights of stairs is usually a transit point, but furnishing it with a bookcase that frames the window (and perhaps also has a seat underneath it), will transform it into the most beautiful place to spend hours relaxing.
There may also be space at the foot of the stairs for a reading niche.
And if there isn't a corner of the house that can be used for this purpose, create it yourself with an all-in-one workstation: an armchair that is also a bookcase.
Or a curved chaise longue, which also acts as a bookcase.
Even from the large, wooden cable reels, you can make corner bookcases that are sturdy enough to sit on.
