DIY Easter bunnies: Make many different types by recycling your scraps

During the paschal festival, among the Easter decorations that simply cannot be missing from our homes - or even in the garden - are the iconic symbols of Easter: the Easter bunnies. The unmistakable shape of these adorable animals with their long and soft ears, in fact, is one of the symbols of this period known all over the world, and they also make us think of the awakening of nature in the Spring.

And so, given their iconic status, bunnies are used to decorate Easter wreaths, centerpieces, hanging decorations and more. Their silhouettes are often those that inspire one to prepare desserts using their outline for a cake or pudding mold, for example. And even when one uses them in a stylized manner, it's still always a nice way to celebrate this festive and colorful time of year. Check out the ideas below for making Easter bunny decorations by recycling a little bit of everything.

Painted wooden ladles, with the cheeks made with felt circles: you can decorate them like this, maybe even slipping them into pots with plants or some other Easter composition.

If you have colored felt or similar material, you can easily make cutouts to sew together to create bunny-shaped pouches in which to store cutlery and spruce up the Easter table (even the picnic table outside!) in a unique way.

And with the colored felt, you can also create adorable hanging ornaments.

Wooden clothespegs are another type of object that you can easily paint to create Easter bunnies.

And even egg cartons, with a little imagination, can be used to create similar Easter decorations.

If you have any scraps of fabric and large wooden beads (with a hole through their centres), you can make bags whose upper flaps will become the rabbit's ears. To fill and give weight to the bag you can use sand, cat litter or even some type of flour or dried legumes.

Using eggshells you can create concrete bunnies by threading tin wire or copper wire in the shape of bunny ears on top.

By folding empty cardboard tubes of the toilet paper rolls, with paper or cardboard ears glued on top, you will have created small gifts (perhaps filled with chocolate eggs) to leave at the place of each diner at a table.

And there are also ideas for using woolen pompoms as stylized bunnies in a string decoration ...

...or to create a bunch of  fluffy bunnies to use to decorate your home - or give as a gift to others - whatever you prefer.

The idea of decorating terracotta jars with soft toys (also hand-made ones) is also really creative and fun, and can be made to look as if the bunnies are disappearing inside the pots.

Happy Easter!
