Don't you know what to do with leftover wool? Discover many ways to use scrap balls of yarn!
Knitting or crochet allows you to relax while creating an infinite number of personalized and beautiful objects, but sometimes it also means finding yourself with bags or boxes full of leftover balls of wool, cotton and various yarns. It is rare, in fact, that we finish the sweater or other such projects using up all the wool we have bought for the job - so what can we do with all the scraps and leftovers?
When there are not enough to be turned into some object in itself, it is best to keep these aside as neatly as possible and then, when there are enough, you can recycle them all together in many creative ways. We suggest some of these recycling ideas below:
If the leftover yarns are fairly similar to each other, you can join them together into a single ball, so that later you can create a colorful project with them. The best way to join thread segments together without knots (which would stand out and become noticeable flaws in the finished work), is to use the technique called the "Russian Knot", which basically involves sewing the ends together.
You can perhaps crochet a multicolored blanket which would look good on a bed or as a throw for a couch.
There are a thousand ideas for creating fantastic bookmarks, such as those in the shape of a flower.
Also adorable are those that are made flat in the area that goes between the pages and stuffed in the parts that protrude from the book and can resemble various animals, insects or characters.
And wouldn't it be nice to have bookmarks that looks like colorful feathers?
For a blanket, you can systematically create square tiles of a thousand colors, which you will later join together into one piece when you have enough of them.
Match up the leftover scraps of material that are compatible in size and color, and then you can create multicolored gloves, hats and scarves which are always a beautiful addition to any clothing collection.
Have you ever thought about using yarn to crochet circular photo frames?
Wrapped around a string core and wound together around the core, with the scraps you can also create baskets to hold whatever you need to store, including the balls of yarn that you will use to work on in the future.
With simple wool thread you can also create cute, little dolls.
...or pompoms, which could also be used to create stylized flowers.
And a leftover of ball of yarn is ideal for creating a small amigurumi (Amigurumi is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small, stuffed yarn creatures)!
