Shop in style by sporting a reusable crochet bag
Every action we can take to avoid consuming plastic is always to be encouraged, and now there are many people who use reusable bags when shopping at the supermarket or other shops and stalls. Even these bags, however, are often made of plastic and maybe they are not even aesthetically pleasing. So why not think about making some with your own hands? One way to do this, is to use DIY crochet projects.
In this way, it will be possible to create mesh (net) bags, or even ones with slightly denser wefts, and which will not cost too much and could be perfect to store and hang up all those types of fruit and vegetables that we do not need to keep in the fridge in the kitchen. Take a look at the ideas below:
A two-tone bag, with a thin shoulder strap made from three, handmade cords instead of a traditional strap. This is then decorated with a matching tassle. This example is cream and coffee colored, but you could customize it however you want.
But if you need a larger bag, don't worry: make sure you use good quality cotton and choose a crochet stitch that creates a denser and more robust weave. Above all, the shoulder strap must be wide and firmly fixed to the bag - better still would be to machine sew the strap to the bag to ensure its durability.
A delicate net bag - perfect for buying goods on the fly at the fruit shop, but also for tidying up in the kitchen.
These are all projects that could also become excellent gift ideas: such objects are, in fact, useful for everyone!
Do you prefer to work using the Tunisian crochet method? There are also tutorials on how to use this splendid technique, to create projects that are always very beautiful to look at.
The larger and more spacious bags can be multifunctional: you could use them, not just for market day, but also to carry school books when there is no risk of rain.
There are those who also use them for the beach: but we will have to face the fact that at a sandy beach, the sand will also get inside open-weave beach bags...
Often these projects are the ideal jobs for beginners just starting to crochet, as they usually do not involve using difficult stitches and do not have to fit a measurements precisely, unlike when making clothing for people.
The bags all have an additional great advantage: they can be washed whenever they get too dirty or take on an unpleasant odor!
