Decorate your home with beautiful bulb arrangements to welcome the Spring!

It is nice to liven up a room with a beautiful vase of elegantly arranged flowers: on tables, on the shelves of a cabinet, on the window sills or on the bedside table and elsewhere, flowers are always a colorful and pleasant touch in any environment. But unless they are faux, or maybe dry and varnished, we will see our floral arrangements wither and die quickly after only a few days.

What are the alternatives? Use pots with houseplants or ... bulbs! There are many flowers that can be seen blooming from the end of winter onwards and which are produced from bulbs or rhizomes. Tulips, hyacinths, snowdrops, daffodils and many others become splendid decorations even in our homes, and you can then try to continue growing them in small containers or move them to larger pots in the garden when they mature.

Crocuses, muscari and more: take a look at the stalls of your local flower markets, supermarkets and nurseries in search of the flowers you like best.

For containers to serve as pots, you can use old enamel cups and mugs, those that would otherwise be thrown away. Or even use glass jars that once held large, scented candles.

Don't know what to do with mismatched cups, perhaps the only survivors of some old tea or coffee service? You can put the flower bulbs in them!

Glass tumblers, mugs and goblets are also suitable. You can also decorate them with a little moss or lichen.

When did you last use the tureen or the rice boiler from your grandmother's antique dinner service? You could convert them into flower beds for bulbs.

Of course, even simple terracotta pots, both left natural or painted, are always more than suitable and are alway very popular with gardeners.

The compact and contained size of most bulbs allows you to indulge in compositions that are impossible with other plants.

Galvanized metal basins and similar containers are a delightfully country style choice.

Old ceramic jugs and tureens, even if they are chipped or damaged a little, are given a new lease on life when they are used for decoration and as planters/pots for bulbs.

How about a flowery gravy boat on the windowsill? With all these containers that do not have drainage holes, you will have to pay attention to the amount of water you use to water them, as well as the frequency of watering: it is always better not to overdo it to avoid the bulbs rotting in stagnant water.

Old metal tool boxes or similar objects are perfect bulb planters.

What flowers would you like to grow indoors like this?
