A dream pantry: create pantry order by following some of these brilliant ideas!

A pantry that is convenient to use makes spending time in the kitchen much more pleasant and easy: it is a real asset to the overall ergonomics of the kitchen. A pantry serves to store all the ingredients and utensils that otherwise would clutter up the kitchen's worktops. So it is essential that the pantry is organized in such a way so as we can see everything at a glance and so that we are to place and retrieve items easily, safely and without dropping everything. And it can also be beautiful to look at, with some thoughtful care and attention.

Here below are some ideas that could help you set up the pantry of your dreams:

If you use jars to store the various ingredients you buy/keep in order to remove their original shop packaging and, thereby, get a more tidy and neat appearance overall, use transparent jars in order to see their contents at a glance. Even better, use glass jars as they are easier to clean, are more hygienic and are easy to label (if necesssary).

It is also very useful to label the contents on each container, and even better than the writing directly on them with a felt-tip pen / marker is to use rmovable labels. These are very easy to produce on your computer and printer, printing onto adhesive paper (or onto paper which can be glued to the container).

Inside pieces of furniture, or even in the spaces between various pieces, think about inserting drawers and pull-out shelves, perhaps even custom-made ones for non-standard sizes and space shapes. Using shelving is the best way to take advantage of all the available space and make it more accessible to use the items which will no longer be crammed into the pantry.

Inside a built-in wardrobe or a similarly small niche, you can use horseshoe shaped shelves, which have a small surface (narrow) but make it much more easy to see and reach any object.

Custom-made shelves are perfect for wall mounted cupboards: the ideal space is created in this way for each item to be stored in the optimum manner.

To make the pantry more fun, you could paint the entire pantry door with blackboard paint (or, if that's too much, paint just a panel or two of the door). You can then let the kids draw on it or use it as a handy shopping list reminder.

If you don't want what's in the pantry to be visible, you can use an adhesive film to opacify the glass.

What if you don't have a niche or piece of furniture to use as a pantry? If you have free space on the wall you can set up a mini pantry just by using some shelves... even in the dining room this coud work!

When arranging the containers in a pantry, group them by type - and maybe even choose different shapes of containers depending on the group, so it's even easier to find everything quickly. An example of groups could be cereals, flour, pasta, etc.

In order not to leave even an inch of space unused, also consider all the additional shelves that you can place on the inside of the doors of the pantry.

And remember that revolving / retractable shelves or trays make it much easier to search for items stored inside furniture units (like kitchen cabinets).

How would you set up your dream pantry?
