Save time and money around the house with some handy tips!

In everyday life we are used to carrying out a series of actions or using certain objects in only one way: we have always done this and it does not occur to us that maybe there may be alternative uses or products that will save us effort and maybe, even some money.

On the internet, however, sometimes one runs into some brilliant ideas that appear to be a solution that we did not know of and we would like to try - perhaps they will immediately become a new, favorite habit. Below we suggest some of these popular tips on the web - maybe they will be useful for you too!

Do you sometimes find a knife that has lost its sharp edge a bit? When it is not a too blunt, you can also use a simple ceramic cup to sharpen it up again. In fact, if you turn any ceramic cup upside down, you will notice that the raised edge on which it rests is not covered with the same glaze as the rest of the surface, but is rougher. That area is abrasive enough to resharpen the blade if you rub the knife back and forth across it!

You often use the PC and remote controls of many devices, but how often do you clean them properly? And when you do, maybe you use toothbrushes and other similar remedies that don't always pick up all the dirt, especially between the keys. Well, you may find it much more effective, faster and even more fun to use an adhesive and malleable pastes (they are also called slime) to push into the cracks and gaps and then, once pulled up, it takes all the dirt with it.

Slime also works well for the ventilation grills on the car dashboard!

Kitchen blender blades and whisks: these are all always very annoying to clean. But you can use this tip: for those with flexible, foldable blades, flatten all the blades together and pass a dish brush and then a sponge between them to remove any food residue. On the other hand, those which have rigid blades - like those of many motorized mixers -  can be put in a bowl or pot full of hot soapy water (maybe even with a little vinegar), leave them to soak for a while and then whip them just as if you were using them to whip a bowl of cream. They will basically clean themselves.

A tidy room will never look quite complete unless the bed is made, and so many will make it right away after getting up. However, by doing so, sweat and moisture that remains on the sheets are not allowed to dry in the air, which then causes mites and bacteria to proliferate. So always wait a bit before making the bed (and you can also air out the bed linen).

The air in our homes is often full of impurities and is impacted by the quality of the air on the outside, especially in the city. As a result, we often resort to using devices that filter the air to make it healthier. But if you want a greener and certainly much less expensive approach to this problem, you can deploy plants capable of cleaning the air we breathe in the house. Among the best known for this ability are: the common ivy, the Boston fern, the sansevieria, the pothos and the aloe vera.

When you use cutting boards do they slide on the work surface and make life difficult? Avoid this problem by using two rubber bands at the ends of the cutting board: the rubber will rub against the surface and the cutting boards will stay in place!
