How often do you clean these nooks and crannies of the house? Discover where you should vacuum most often

vacuum cleaner is a great help for doing household chores, especially if we have pets at home or if there is a garden and we often find ourselves going in and out of the house, bringing in dirt and dust with us. It is a good habit to vacuum as often as possible during the week in the busiest areas of the home, and then set aside a few hours once a week for a thorough cleaning of the more remote areas.

Even if you do this, however, there are places in the house that you inevitably end up leaving for a long time, but these too should be cleaned periodically. Find out which ones these are by reading further:

  • Venetian blinds: if we have this type of blind on the windows, it is likely that we do not regularly worry about dusting the slats they are made of, but they really do become a trap for dust and dirt. And when you open the window and hold them down, that dust will be blown into the house by any small gust of air. Whether using a vacuum cleaner or even an old sock, remember to clean them regularly. And don't forget the curtains either.
  • Upholstery: upholstered parts of armchairs, sofas and chairs deserve a weekly treatment (even more often, if there are animals in the home) with the vacuum cleaner. And this is even more important when it comes to the non-removable elements. And speaking of padded and difficult-to-wash items, don't forget the mattresses either, and when it comes to vacuuming the mattress, sprinkle the mattress with baking soda for 30-60 minutes beforehand!
  • Skirting boards and door and window frames: by vacuuming the floor or sweeping, we do not reach the skirting boards, which thus become covered with dust. We must therefore get there by hand or with the appropriate accessories for our appliances.
  • Plants and dry flower arrangements: if there is no light in the house to grow plants, or you don't have time to care for them, you might choose to decorate with fake plants or dry plant arrangements. Any kind of similar decoration, including any fake arrangements in the rooms, will need to be cleaned of dust at least once a month.
  • Drawers: we wash cutlery, clothes, and everything we put in the drawers. And it is true that drawers remain closed with clean objects inside, but every now and then you need to remember them too ... Maybe on the occasion of the the proverbial Easter / Spring cleaning.
  • Under the bed, sofas, armchairs and tables: remembering to vacuum under the bed once a week, and perhaps under sofas and tables that have a wide base at least once a month is a good rule of hygiene.

Do you also usually put off cleaning these areas for longer than necessary?
